Hi! Jacob Feldman—that’s me—is a newsletter creator, podcast producer, features writer, and sports reporter. Mainly, I share stories. I currently cover tech, media, and fan experience for Sportico.
My Work

Features
Past profile subjects have included Tony Hawk, Simone Biles, and Rece Davis (one of SI’s most read stories in 2018). I’ve also written two Sports Illustrated cover stories. I’ve written about college lacrosse, crypto, and climate change as well. My most rewarding work involved telling Christy Salters’s story.
Newsletters
At SI, I helped redesign and run The Morning Huddle, a daily NFL e-mail. Since 2014, Don Van Natta Jr. and I have grown The Sunday Long Read, which has been regularly cited in places like POLITICO Playbook and Poynter. I’m currently launching Club Sportico, breaking down the intersection of sports and money.
Reporting
I’ve tackled topics ranging from tax law to biomechanics to marriage while breaking news, simplifying issues, and tracking companies as big as Apple. I’ve discussed my work on podcasts, radio, and television. I’m currently writing ~4/week @ Sportico, covering my beat in addition to the biggest stories in sports business.
About Me
Ever since creating the Neighborhood Newsletter in middle school and delivering it door-to-door for $1 an issue, I’ve always enjoyed finding new ways to share stories, filling nearly every role from paperboy to publisher.
Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, I now live and work in NYC.
I’m currently running The Sunday Long Read—a weekly newsletter, website, and podcast dedicated to celebrating exceptional journalism—with ESPN investigative reporter Don Van Natta Jr. You can join us (for free!) here.
I’ve also spent the last five years building This Day, a Radiotopia Network podcast covering America’s forgotten—or misremembered—past.
